This afternoon the presentation took place of the new Tyrrell 026 for next season. Due to the changes in the regulations of Formula 1, the car has changed in lots of ways. The biggest change however is in the back of the car, and is the Ford Cosworth Zetec-R V10 which produces at least 50 bhp more then the old V8. In the future, a further expansion of its power output can be expected. Although it is a client engine from Ford, Tyrrell, together with Cosworth and Pi research, made it's own software for the engine.
As known, Tyrrell only presented Takagi as it's driver to the press. The second driver and the test driver will be announced on short notice. Lots of Japanese sponsors are on the car with sponsors like PIAA and Mild Seven.

Although Ken Tyrrell announced that this will be their last season in it's existing form, their biggest goal remains a competitive season as possible. One thing's for sure, Tyrrell will be using GoodYear tyres next season.
