Monaco Grand Prix cancelled

Published on 19 March 2020 by Bryan van Berlo

A couple of hours ago, it was announced that the Dutch, Spanish and Monaco Grands Prix will be postponed due to the corona virus. However, the latter will no longer take place at all, as the organization of the race in the principality has just announced that it is not possible to reschedule the race weekend at a later time this year.

It is the first time since 1954 that there will be no Monaco Grand Prix, which forms the prestigious ‘triple crown’ together with the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The twelfth edition of the Historic Monaco Grand Prix, which would be held there two weeks before the Formula 1-weekend, has also been cancelled.
