Pirelli announces Hungarian GP tyre choices

Published on 24 July 2019 by Stefan Meens

Pirelli, Formula 1’s official tyre supplier, announced the F1 team’s tyre choices for the Hungarian Grand Prix. On offer are the C2, C3 and C4 compounds, respectively marked white, yellow and red.

Renault, Alfa Romeo and Scuderia Toro Rosso appear the most aggressive in their tyre choice with ten sets of the soft Pirellis. Mercedes, with only eight sets of the softs, is the most conservative. The remaining teams, including Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, have opted for nine sets of the soft tyre.

A few teams have chosen split strategies for their drivers; both Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) have a different tyre selection compared to their team mates with both drivers opting for an extra hard tyre set.
