Legends Parade at Spielberg with Jos Verstappen

Published on 17 June 2019 by Niels Hendrix

The Legends Parade has made the hearts of motorsport enthusiasts beat faster for many years now and has long become a fixture of the Austrian GP. This year it will once again feature dream race cars from motorsport’s illustrious history take to the asphalt of the Red Bull Ring during the Formula 1 weekend. Behind the wheel: motorsport celebrities from recent decades, including Jos Verstappen.

The slew of racing legends taking part in the action a few weeks from now gives fans much reason to celebrate. One legend, however, will never again take to the track. Without a doubt, the death of Austria’s national hero Niki Lauda leaves a big gap in the Spielberg-based Formula 1 Grand Prix. Since 2014, he had taken part in almost every Legends Parade. Friends, companions and colleagues such as Gerhard Berger, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Jean Alesi, Dr. Helmut Marko and – of course – Dieter Quester will honour his memory during 2019’s Legends Parade.

This year’s Legends Parade is dedicated to dream cars that will raise the heart rate of every motorsport enthusiast. Premium manufacturers such as Porsche, McLaren, Bugatti and Aston Martin will present limited editions of their most desirable models. Even more reason not to miss the side-even highlight of Spielberg’s Formula 1 race!

What time do you have to be there to see these dream cars? On Saturday, 29.06., the Legends Parade puts the icing on the cake of the day’s programme while on Sunday, 30.06., the legends will make fans to go wild one last time shortly before the start of the race.
