Pirelli announces tyre choices for Canadian Grand Prix

Published on 28 May 2019 by Kees-Jan Koster

Pirelli, the tyre supplier for the Formula 1, has announced the tyre choices the different teams made for the Canadian Grand Prix. During the race weekend on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the teams have the softest three compounds at their disposal, those are the C3, the C4 and the C5. The C3 (the hardest compound) is the white striped tyre, while the C4 (medium) and the C5 (soft) are respectively yellow and red striped.

Noticeable is that the three top teams all made a different choice, of which this time Mercedes, with eight sets of the softest compound, is the most aggressive. Both Ferraris and both Red Bulls chose seven sets of the softest tyre, where Ferrari and Red Bull respectively chose for five and four sets of the medium tyres.

Alfa Romeo, McLaren and Racing Point made the most aggressive tyre choices by taking nine sets of the softest compound for Montreal.
