Pirelli announces tyre choices Australian Grand Prix

Published on 14 March 2018 by Mike Motilall

Pirelli, Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier, has announced the tyre choices the respective teams have made for the Australian Grand Prix. During the weekend at Melbourne, all the drivers have the soft, super-soft and ultra-soft Pirelli tyre compounds at their disposal.

The Mercedes-team has made a different choice for their drivers, only the amount of ultra-soft tyres are the same for both drivers, this being nine sets each. The Ferrari outfit has gone for a more conservative strategy for both drivers by having them run on seven sets of the ultra-soft compound. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing has taken the middle route and is with eight sets of the ultra’s, exactly in between Mercedes and Ferrari.
