Winners of the Red Bull Racing #33 driver cap announced!

Verstappen.nl’s fourth competition of the 2017 season, saw 600 people participate in an attempt to win a Red Bull Racing #33 driver cap. By predicting Max Verstappen’s fastest lap in the Russian Grand Prix, participants had a chance to win the cap.

Mark Donders and Kevin Kirk both predicted a 1:38.432. It meant their guess was only 0.003 off Max’ fastest lap (1:38.429). As both Mark and Kevin predicted the same time, we’ve decided to send them both a cap!

“Since Jos Verstappen drove Formula 1, I’ve been an F1 fan. Sundays I stay at home and I’ll get up at night for the races. Friends and family think I’m crazy! Ever since his Formula 3 days, I’ve been following Max. Things went fast and I’m a huge fan”, says Mark. “The hype around Max means everyone is a fan which makes me feel vindicated. I always hoped he would become one of the big names and that’s what happened. He is my hero.”

The races are usually watched with a group of friends. They’ll visit the Belgian Grand Prix this year as well. “Max needs to stay himself. Not many have his talent so he just has to do what he’s good at: race fast. I genuinely believe he will be world champion, several titles actually.”

Kevin Kirk, the other winner, lives in Canada but has a Dutch background. “I’ve only watched Formula 1 since 2016 but immediately followed Max. He is the reason I love the sport. He is so talented and passionate. It’s exciting to see him race. It looks so easy! I can’t wait to see him race in real life this year in Montreal. If I can’t go this year, I’ll go next year.”

Kevin concludes: “Max always makes me smile, especially with his overtakes. He really is a great driver. I wish him all the best in the future. I’m sure he’ll be world champion and can’t wait to see that happen!”
