Jos has tested the new Tyrrell today for the first time at the circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. We just spoke with Jos and he told us that he had had a nice drive with the car and that he was very satisfied on the whole. Jos drove a total of 55 laps, had a large amount of fuel on board the whole time, and made a fastest lap-time of 1:25.4. Jos was still driving with Mika Salo's car, so without adjustments to the steering installation for Jos. In the last lap Jos had to shut down the engine when he got an alarm from the engine, and had to park his car besides the track. This happened just a few minutes before the track closed for the day.

Tomorrow Jos will drive again and will then cover a complete race distance, between 65 and 70 laps. Friday Mika Salo will drive for the first time in Barcelona. This morning the track was a bit wet but for the rest of the day it was dry. The weather forecast for tomorrow is also dry weather. More about testing in Barcelona tomorrow...
