Baldisserri reflects on FWS start as round 1 at Sebring is coming up

The Florida Winter Series got off to a start with a collective test at the Homestead Speedway on Wednesday. It was Max Verstappen's first outing in the series supported by the Ferrari Driver Academy. After an unfortunate start to the day, the Dutch youngster managed a seventh position in both practice sessions.

Head of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Luca Baldisserri, reflects: "The first day was exciting for pretty much everyone, drivers, engineers and mechanics. We are all aware of the effort that's gone into this experiment of training under racing, an innovative idea and method. This first day of testing was useful to check out a few mechanisms and as preparation for the coming races. Accidents, off track excursions and lack of concentration from the youngest are part of the game and show how important is experience. Now we head off for Sebring and the first real event to be run over three days."

Verstappen junior arrived at the Sebring Raceway without the fear of getting bored. On Friday, Max will do a track walk and attend the drivers' briefing. The following day will see some serious track action as there are four free practice sessions lined up. Sunday will feature two qualifying sessions and the first race of the series. Round 1 of the FWS will be concluded on Monday, with another two races.
