For the third time this Formula 1-season, Max Verstappen has been voted ‘Driver of the Day’. Fans worldwide casted their votes at Formula1.com during the race. The twenty-year-old Dutchman got the majority of the votes in a race where he came in fourth. After a great catch up-race in China and a nice second place in Japan, Max was also the recipient of this accolade.

Max had a great catch-up race in Austin by getting through the pack from sixteenth all the way to the front. Having had a good start, the Dutchman made little work of his competitors. Almost at the end of the race, from a fifth position, Max does his second and final stop. He then starts his push forward to the podium.

After a good catch up-race on Valtteri Bottas and an even spectacular move on Kimi Raikkonen on the final lap, the Red Bull Racing-driver crosses the line in third. A very controversial five-seconds time penalty spoils everything for the Dutchman, putting him fourth in the standings. Despite that, the youngster can look back at a very solid performance in a great race.
