Max visits Hahnenkamm-Rennen in Kitzbühel

Published on 22 January 2017 by Mike Motilall

Max Verstappen will not be resting on his laurels these coming days. In the run up to the new Formula 1-season, the 19-year old driver is busy with an intensive training schedule in order to be fitter than ever in Melbourne, when the lights eventually turn green.

Part of the preparation is also working in the simulator. Hence Max was at the factory last week in Milton Keynes, spending a day-and-a-half in the digital version of the Red Bull Racing-car. His weekend continued on in Kitzbühel, where he attended the famous down-hill Hahnenkamm-Rennen.

Last year January, Max did a unique demonstration run in a Red Bull Tag Heuer RB7 in the snow. It turned out to be a spectacular run, during which motorsport fans enjoyed the echoing sound of the engine in the mountains as Max plowed his way in the snow.

This weekend there was no motorized traffic in sight for Max, who partook in the Kitzbühel down-hill for the ‘Charity Trophy’. Under the watchful eye of Niki Lauda and Bernie Ecclestone, Gerhard Berger demonstrated his skills on the skis. Also Red Bull-drivers Daniil Kvyat, Carlos Sainz, world champion MotoGP Marc Márquez, Dani Pedrosa, Pol Espargaró and Bradley Smith were all present at the Streif in Austria.
